Support at Home pricing: make the agreed price easy to explain

Clear pricing starts with a price that staff can explain and a participant can understand. The Department’s June 2026 guidance says Support at Home prices must be reasonable and transparent. It explains that package-management and travel costs are included in the unit price rather than charged separately. Keep the reasoning with the price

For an internal price review, record the service, billable unit, costs considered, agreed amount and date. Keep the participant’s agreement and any later variation linked to the relevant version. That makes it easier to investigate a difference between a published price, an agreement and an invoice.

Use current guidance when discussing changes. Some older pages described a planned July 2026 price-cap start. The Department’s service guidance updated on 1 October 2026 instead records a deferral. Do not present the earlier announcement as a current cap schedule. Before changing a price, review the applicable agreement and official requirements rather than simply replacing an old number in a spreadsheet.

How Genoveva could help

Genoveva could help keep service-price versions, agreement references and review actions organised. Its planned claim-preparation workflows could support checking which agreed price applies to a delivered service. Availability must be confirmed for the release, and Genoveva does not set government prices or approve a provider’s pricing.
